About us

The AURA private rooms, former bed & breakfast is located at Basovizza n.248 about 9 km far away of Trieste centre, in a village surrounded by the typical Carso landscape of woods, rocky barren land, meadows, dolinas (small round valleys). The village of about 800 inhabitants is situated near the boundary of Slovenia in an area where two cultures and languages are coexisitng; you can still feel rural spirit in the village without missing any of basic services (bank, post-office, pharmacy, police, stores, pubs) The home stays at the edge of the village along the State road n.14 (Strada statale n.14) at Km 164,030 (from Trieste toward Pesek).

The rooms are in a small villa with a fenced large garden and parking yard. The house has central heating. There are available for the guests two twinbed rooms, one single room, bathrooms, a breakfast room with TV corner and internet. We speak English, Slovenian and Croatian and at elementary level also German, French, Spanish.

The AURA guests can use the garden and the parking yard of course. On request, the use of the kitchen and of bicycles is available . On agreement, a professional tourist guide can help you to visit Trieste and surroundings, the resorst of Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, of Slovenia and Istria. You will be advised on purchase of items of local handicraft, farming products, tipical meals and wines.

AURA is at a distance of 700 m from Sincrotrone Elettra, 3 km from Cattinara Hospital, 5 km from MIB, 5km from University and 3 km from Highway. The buses n.39 and n.51 are driving from Trieste to Basovizza.
